We know children go through clothes super fast, sometimes only wearing clothes a handful of times – here are some ways that you can shop smarter whilst dressing your little ones:
- Offer your children’s old (out-grown) clothes to friends, give them to charity or there are sites that will buy your clothes to sell on again. That way, someone else isn’t buying brand new clothes and instead are getting the benefit from a perfectly good pair of trousers, t-shirt or coat. (Hopefully, you will have friends who pass clothes on to you too!)
- But if not, try buying at least some of your children’s clothes from pre-loved clothes sites such as Kidclo, Sweet Pea Pre-loved Clothes or Kids O’clock. You can also find some great local sellers on sites such as Ebay, Etsy and social media sites.
- Offer your children’s old uniform back to the school for another family or pass on to friends and family. Donating them to the closest charity shop to your school is also a great idea, as the families going in are more likely to have children attending the school.
- Why not suggest your school sets up a uniform swap shop too?
- Official club sports clothing is often expensive and hardly worn before children grow out of it, ask around at your sports club for football boot or ballet pump swaps – many parents will be in the same position as you and may have some to offer too.
