30 May Greener Jubilee Celebrations

As the country gears up to commemorate 70 years of the Queen’s reign, we head into a long bank holiday weekend and one of Jubilee celebrations – how will you be marking the occasion?

We’ve got some tips and ideas to think about when making your plans –

1. Plant a tree for the jubilee with the Queen’s Green Canopy campaign –  a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, inviting people from across the UK to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”
2. Keep your decorations green – think before you buy, can you borrow decorations or even get crafty and make your own? If not then think about what you are buying and whether the materials used are recyclable or re-usable. Opt for materials such as paper, cardboard or cloth rather than plastics.
3. Pledge to make a difference – Perhaps you could pledge to make 70 quick switches or small changes this year – check out lots of tips on our website, it’s easier than you think!
4. Heading to an event? Why not give yourself some extra time and consider cycling or walking there?
5. Have fun – We’ve all missed out on lots of family time and celebrations these last few years, so be sure to have a good time!
